New Russian Modules to be Attached to the ISS

New Russian modules may appear on the ISS if the resolution about prolonging station life is positive, Vladimir Soloviev, ISS RS Flight Director told news media. The decision is to be made in March during the meeting of the Heads of the Space Agencies. According to Soloviev, extending of the space equipment life has been studied a lot by Russian experts. They validate ISS equipment and track obsolete units to provide proper maintenance or replacement.

He also states that extension of the station life will mostly depend on the capability to provide crew safety.
