SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket into space at 10:43 a.m. The shuttle is planned to circle Earth twice, reenter orbit and land in the Pacific. If the flight is successful, it will be the first time a private business completed the flight.

SpaceX's rocket has already entered a low orbit this June, but is the first attempt to put the rocket in space.

The first launch scheduled for this morning at 9:06 was postponed, but the control deck announced that the abort was a false one.

SpaceX hopes to launch a ferry program for NASA, shuttling supplies to the international space station.
