Science Research and Training
Training in Science Research and Education: Some of the excellent opportunities for K-12 students, teachers, undergraduate and graduate students and Faculty for advacenced training. Fellowships, Internships and Summer opportunities.

Proteomics
Expasy: The ExPASy (Expert Protein Analysis System) proteomics server of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) is dedicated to the analysis of protein sequences and structures as well as 2-D PAGE
Swissprot: A curated protein sequence database which strives to provide a high level of annotation (such as the description of the function of a protein, its domains structure, post-translational modifications, variants, etc.), a minimal level of redundancy and high level of integration with other databases
NCBI Protein Database: In addition to Protein sequences, other protein-related information such as taxonomy information is also available here.
Viewing protein structures using PDB: This tutorial provides a basic introduction to viewing protein structures in Protein Data Bank (PDB), an international archive of structural data for biological molecules.
KEGG pathway: KEGG PATHWAY is a collection of manually drawn pathway maps (see last updates and change history) representing our knowledge on the molecular interaction and reaction networks
Biocarta pathway: A large number of biological pathways have been compiled in this database. The website also allow you to download Biocarta pathway templates.
Mitochondrial Proteome : This database provides a comprehensive list of mitochondrial proteins of yeast, mouse, Arabidopsis thaliana, neurospora and human.

Genomics
BLAST: The Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) finds regions of local similarity between sequences. The program compares nucleotide or protein sequences to sequences in the database
Gene Ontology: The project provides a controlled vocabulary of terms (GO terms) for describing gene product characteristics and gene product annotation data from GO Consortium members, as well as tools to access and process this data
DAVID: The Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) contains a comprehensive set of functional annotation tools for investigators to understand biological meaning behind large list of genes. An excellent free software to analyze your microarray data. Pathway analysis, GO tools and more.
Finding a gene on a chromosome map: This tutorial provides a basic introduction to finding the approximate location of a gene on a chromosome map using NCBI Map Viewer
Glossary of Bioinformatics Terms: This is a quick guide to some common terms used in molecular biology databases
Affymetrix: Affymetrix makes and distributes generic and custom GeneChips. NetAffx of Affymetrix is a comprehensive database of features present on Affy chips.
Mouse Genome Database (MGD): The Mouse Genome Database (MGD) is an integrated data resource for mouse genetic, genomic, and biological information.
Rat Genome Database (RGD): The Rat Genome Database houses genomic, genetic, functional, physiological, pathway and disease data for the laboratory rat as well as comparative data for mouse and human. The site also hosts data mining and analysis tools for rat genomics and physiology
